Cancellation and Refunds

Last updated 2 October 2026

Written plainly, because a returns policy you have to decode is not a policy. If your piece is wrong, faulty or simply not what you hoped for, this page tells you exactly what you can do and how long it takes.

Cancelling an order

You can cancel an order yourself, free, at any point before it ships. Open the order in your account and use Cancel.

Self-cancellation is available while the order is:

  • Pending — placed, payment not yet confirmed
  • Confirmed — paid and queued for packing
  • Packed — boxed but not yet collected by the courier

Once the order is shipped, the button is gone, because the parcel is physically with the courier and we can no longer stop it. Email support@dcorejewels.in immediately and we will try to recall it — sometimes that works, and we will tell you honestly if it does not. If it cannot be recalled, refuse the parcel at the door and it comes back to us as a return.

There is no cancellation fee. If you had already paid, the full amount comes back to you as described below.

Returns

You have 0 days from the date your order is delivered to raise a return. The clock starts on the delivery scan recorded by the courier, not on the day you open the box.

To start one, open the order in your account, choose Return, and tell us what went wrong. We will confirm by email and send you the return address and instructions. Please do not post anything back before we have confirmed an address — parcels sent to an unconfirmed address cannot be traced, and we cannot refund what we never received.

What we need back

  • The complete piece, unworn and undamaged, with no signs of use
  • Its anti-tarnish pouch, box, tags and any freebies that came with it
  • The invoice

Please pack it as carefully as we packed it. Plated jewellery scratches easily in transit, and a piece that arrives back damaged cannot be refunded in full.

What cannot be returned

These are firm, and they are the ordinary rules for fashion jewellery rather than anything unusual to us:

  • Earrings, nose pins and anything else worn in a piercing, once the sealed hygiene pouch has been opened. This is a hygiene rule and we cannot make exceptions — an item that has touched a piercing cannot be sold to anyone else. It is why the seal exists and why we ask you to check it before opening. If earrings arrive faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, this exclusion does not apply: tell us and we will make it right.
  • Customised, engraved or made-to-order pieces, which cannot be resold.
  • Items bought on a final-sale or clearance listing, where the listing says so.
  • Gift wrap, message cards and shipping charges, which are services already performed.
  • Pieces that have been worn, resized, altered or repaired by someone else.
  • Returns raised after the return window.

Exchanges

We do not run an automatic exchange system. If you want a different piece or a different size, return the original under the rules above and place a fresh order. That way you are not waiting on us to have the replacement in stock before your money comes back.

When the fault is ours

If a piece arrives damaged, faulty, or is not the item you ordered, none of the return conditions above count against you — including the hygiene seal.

Email support@dcorejewels.in within 48 hours of delivery with a photograph of the item and one of the outer packaging. We will replace it or refund it in full, including what you paid for shipping, and we cover the cost of sending it back. Please do not discard the packaging until the claim is settled.

Plating, tarnish and care

This is the part most jewellery shops leave vague, so here it is straight.

Our pieces are plated fashion jewellery over a brass core. They are not solid gold or silver, they contain no precious-metal content, and they are not hallmarked. Where a listing says something like "18k rose gold", that describes the colour and finish of the plating — not solid gold. These pieces have no bullion or resale value and should not be bought as an investment.

Plating is a surface layer. Many of our pieces also carry an anti-tarnish coating, and with reasonable care a piece will stay bright for a long time — but it is not permanent, and it wears. What wears it fastest:

  • Perfume, deodorant, hairspray and sanitiser sprayed onto or over the piece
  • Water — showering, swimming, washing up, the sea and especially chlorine
  • Sweat, and humid weather over long periods
  • Body lotions, oils and cosmetics
  • Storing pieces loose together so they rub against each other

Put your jewellery on last and take it off first. Wipe it with a dry soft cloth after wearing and keep it in its pouch. Done consistently, that is the whole of the care routine and it makes most of the difference.

Gradual dulling from ordinary wear is not a manufacturing fault and is not grounds for a return or a refund.

How refunds are issued

Refunds are issued by a person here, not by an automatic system. We would rather tell you that than quote you a timeline a machine would keep and a human cannot.

Here is what actually happens:

  1. We approve the refund. For a cancellation before dispatch, that is the same working day. For a return, it is within 2 working days of the returned parcel reaching us and passing a quick check.
  2. We issue it. We initiate the refund through the original payment gateway within 2 working days of approving it, and email you the reference.
  3. Your bank posts it. That takes a further 5 to 7 working days and is entirely on your bank's side. UPI and wallets are usually quicker; credit cards are usually the slowest, and some show the credit only on the next statement.

So: roughly 3 to 5 working days from us, plus 5 to 7 from your bank. If it has been longer than that, email us with your order number — we will send you the refund reference so you can raise it with your bank directly, which is far faster than either of us guessing.

Where the money goes

  • Paid online? Back to the original payment method. We cannot redirect it to a different card or account — the gateway will only reverse the transaction it took.
  • Paid cash on delivery? By bank transfer, because there is no online transaction to reverse. We will email you for your account number, IFSC and the name on the account. We ask for these by email and only after you have raised the return; we will never phone you to ask for your card number, PIN, CVV, OTP or UPI PIN, and nobody who does is from Dcore Jewels.

What is and is not refunded

  • Cancelled before dispatch: the full amount, including shipping.
  • Our fault — damaged, faulty or wrong item: the full amount, including shipping, and we cover the return postage.
  • Changed your mind: the price of the goods. The original shipping charge, the COD handling fee and any gift-wrap charge are not refunded, and the cost of posting the item back to us is yours.
  • Part of an order: only the returned items are refunded. If returning them takes the order below the ₹999 free-shipping threshold, the shipping charge you would have paid is deducted.
  • Bought with a discount code: you are refunded what you actually paid, not the list price. A code used on a cancelled or returned order is not reissued.

Glow Coins

Glow Coins spent on an order are returned to your account when that order is cancelled or refunded. Coins earned on an order are reversed when it is cancelled or returned. Returned coins keep their original expiry date — a cancellation does not extend the life of a coin.
